Junior Risk & Compliance Officer

We are recruiting for a Junior Risk and Compliance Officer to join a well-respected Regional Law Firm’s office in Bromley. Within this role, you will provide general support to the existing compliance team. You will also offer guidance to wider teams regarding regulatory and compliance issues where necessary.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a keen commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of the compliance landscape. A sound knowledge of the law, regulations and professional standards relative to law firms is essential. Equally, relevant experience within a legal position, ideally risk and compliance-centric, is key to this role. 

Some responsibilities of this role include:

• Maintain various internal registers, such as complaints, GDPR and claims
• Assist with preparations for accreditations and audits
• Aid in addressing client complaints
• Provide assistance in maintaining the firm’s risk management and compliance training
• Conduct ad-hoc research in all areas of risk management
• Monitor new clients’ compliance with the firm’s AML/CDD procedures
• Stay informed on legal and regulatory changes 
• Provide general risk and compliance advice to firm-wide staff
• Assist with conflicts searches and AML checks 
• Carry out admin tasks associated with the firm’s file view process

Support the Risk and Compliance Manager with the preparation of formal reports
