Risk & Compliance Manager

A forward-thinking, ambitious, well-respected regional law firm is looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager to join them in South East London. Within this role, you will be leading a small team of risk and compliance professionals in their day-to-day tasks. You will collaborate on a variety of risk and compliance tasks, such as AML, complaints and claims.

Prior experience within a legal compliance environment is vital, specifically within a risk and compliance/AML role working within a law firm. Equally, experience managing risk and compliance processes, coupled with familiarity with SRA and statutory requirements would be desirable for this role.

Some responsibilities:

• Offer guidance on compliance regarding policies and procedures
• Lead core compliance functions
• Aid in the development of AML policies, systems and procedures
• Monitor departmental risks and escalate where needed
• Assist with potential compliance breaches
• Oversee professional negligence matters 
• Renew practising certificates and accreditation
• Liaise with Senior members of staff to address GDPR concerns (data protection, conflicts of interest, data deletion, etc)
• Complete and assess audits
• Maintain policies and procedures in adherence to terms of business
