Risk & Compliance Manager

We are looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager to join a prominent firm in South East London. Within this role, you will be leading a small team of juniors in their day-to-day tasks, whilst taking on the responsibility of being the trusted advisor to the firm, in relation to; policies and procedures, SRA rules and regulations, data protection issues and instilling a positive compliance culture across the business.

Some of the duties and responsibilities will include:

• Offer guidance on compliance regarding policies and procedures
• Lead core compliance functions
• Aid in the development of AML policies, systems and procedures
• Monitor departmental risks and escalate where needed
• Assist with potential compliance breaches
• Oversee professional negligence matters
• Renew practising certificates and accreditation
• Liaise with Senior members of staff to address GDPR concerns (data protection, conflicts of interest, data deletion, etc)
• Complete and assess audits
• Maintain policies and procedures in adherence to terms of business

This role would be perfectly suited to someone who may be working in a large city firm, looking for a different type of opportunity; or perhaps, a qualified lawyer with compliance experience - interested in exploring in-house opportunities.
