Compliance Manager

Our client, a full-service law firm, is looking for a Compliance Manager to join their team in Birmingham. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that all risk management and compliance policies, controls and procedures within the firm meet regulatory standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a risk and compliance role at a law or professional services firm, and have a good working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and codes of conduct.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

• Analyse systems to ensure compliance with best practice
• Oversee risk and compliance management strategies/programs
• Investigate compliance issues
• Advise on compliance issues such as CDD, conflicts of interest, GDPR and AML
• Lead risk assessment training for the wider team
• Answer queries from the onboarding team
• Liaise with external compliance partners, regulators and auditors
• Conduct internal reviews/audits

A solid understanding of quality standards is desirable but non-essential, and likewise, prior experience within a managerial position would be advantageous to this role.

The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented, collaborative worker who thrives even under pressure. A confident communicator, both verbally and orally, with excellent IT, analytical and organisational skills will excel in this role.
