Regulatory Lawyer

A prestigious UK law firm is looking for an experienced Regulatory Lawyer to join its in-house team. This is a key role within the firm’s risk and compliance function, offering the opportunity to provide high-level regulatory advice and drive strategic improvements across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading on regulatory, risk, and compliance advisory matters, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
• Providing expert guidance on SRA regulatory frameworks, professional conduct, and compliance obligations
• Overseeing and enhancing firm-wide supervision processes, identifying and implementing systemic improvements
• Advising on complex client retainers, professional conduct risks, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Managing internal audits, regulatory risk assessments, and firm-wide compliance projects
• Handling high-level regulatory queries, complaints, and engagement with the SRA, including supervision and notification processes
• Supporting PII renewals and professional indemnity updates, ensuring robust risk management
• Reviewing supplier contracts to assess confidentiality, professional conduct risk, and compliance obligations

This role will also offer opportunities to contribute to data protection and broader regulatory strategy within the firm.

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with extensive experience in regulatory law, legal risk, or compliance, ideally within a top-tier law firm or professional services environment. Strong expertise in SRA Standards and Regulations is essential, along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. You should have a commercially focused mindset, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. A proactive and strategic approach to regulatory risk is key, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
