Compliance Assistant
We are working with a progressive full-service law firm in Brighton. Our client is seeking a proactive Compliance Assistant to join their dynamic team.
In this position, you’ll be involved in vital tasks aimed at enhancing the firm’s risk management processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal regulations, and supporting due diligence-related tasks. You’ll work alongside senior managers to address regulatory queries, implement improvements to working practices, and ensure the firm meets its obligations.
We’re looking for someone with a background in legal compliance, ideally within a law firm or professional services. We’re looking for someone who is adaptable, ambitious and eager to develop professionally within risk and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assess policies and procedures of potential weaknesses
- Support senior staff with internal investigations, alongside claims and complaints
- Assist with the creation of risk management frameworks
- Manage file requests from various external entities
- Carry out internal audits on compliance according to professional conduct rules.
- Contribute to risk management and due diligence processes for mergers and acquisitions
- Support quality assurance programmes, including Lexcel and AML audits.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure regulatory obligations are met
- Assist with information for tenders and Practicing Certificate renewals
The ideal candidate is familiar with case management systems and MS Office. If you have an eye for detail, strong interpersonal skills and previous administrative experience, we want to hear from you!
