Compliance Manager

Our client, a prestigious law firm based in London, is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead their new risk and compliance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compliance professional with a passion for financial crime prevention, client onboarding, and team leadership.

As the Compliance & Risk Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the client onboarding process, ensuring all CDD checks and regulatory requirements are met. You’ll lead a team of compliance professionals, driving performance, providing mentorship, and handling high-profile escalations.

Key duties include:

• Supervising and managing CDD checks across a broad range of clients
• Leading the conflict-checking process and identifying potential issues
• Collaborating with senior leadership on high-risk matters and compliance strategies
• Oversee the training of your team and wider business staff
• Ensuring that the team adheres to all relevant regulatory standards and governance principles relative to the compliance framework
• Oversee the quality control of compliance processes, including regular audits and monitoring to ensure all regulatory obligations are fulfilled to the highest standards
• Implement and oversee systems to ensure efficient workflows, and that each team member adheres to the firm’s values and delivers consistent results

About You:

• 5+ years’ experience in a law firm’s compliance team with in-depth knowledge of AML regulations.
• Proven people management experience (2+ years), with a track record of driving team performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
