Junior Risk Analyst

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join as a Junior Risk Analyst at a National Firm in London. 

Within this role, you will support fee earners and various business functions in anti-money laundering, sanctions, general conflicts, and risk and compliance checks. You will carry out background analysis, collect documentation and oversee general progress. 

Some responsibilities: 

• Handle conflicts, AML, sanctions and risk assessment queries
• Perform and review PEP, sanctions, adverse media screening
• Analyse conflict check results 
• Review identification, ownership and SOFs/SOWs
• Escalate high-risk reports to senior management
• Support senior staff with projects and tasks relative to new processes and updated regulatory requirements. 
• Draft risk assessments and provide appropriate risk ratings
• Facilitate continuous improvement of systems, processes and the case management system
• Review new client matter forms, and liaise with fee-earners, paralegals and clients to obtain outstanding information

The ideal candidate has essential experience in a legal environment, with a background in compliance within a law firm setting being highly desirable. This experience equips them with the specialised knowledge needed to excel in a compliance-focused role in the legal sector.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and technical skills. They are confident in liaising with clients and colleagues across various levels, demonstrating excellent organisational abilities and prioritisation in high-volume situations. Skilled at multitasking and managing time-sensitive matters, they bring initiative and a collaborative spirit to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
